HFTP Sells Out Exhibition for Upcoming HITEC Amsterdam 2018, A 20 Percent Space Increase from Previous Year

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), an international nonprofit association and producers of Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), has sold all exhibit spaces for the upcoming HITEC Amsterdam 2018. HITEC Amsterdam will feature 84 exhibiting companies - a 20 percent increase from the inaugural 2017 event. A floorplan with a list of participating companies is available on the HITEC Amsterdam website. HITEC Amsterdam will take place from 11-13 April at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre in The Netherlands.For companies who were not able to reserve a booth in time, a waiting list for booth space is available with placement given on a first-come, first-served basis. HFTP also offers exhibitor supporter packages for non-exhibiting companies, which grants access to all of the same perks HITEC exhibitors receive - the next best thing to having a booth. HFTP Offers GDPR Vendor Compliance Letter in Multiple Languages

HFTP has provided the hospitality industry a French, Spanish, and German translation of the Vendor Compliance Query Template. The Vendor Compliance Query Template is intended to be used by lodging organizations to inquire about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance from their vendors.The letter asks vendors to submit their current data security and privacy practices and to describe the steps they are taking to become compliant ahead of the GDPR deadline of 25 May 2018. The letter is meant to act as a starting point to be customized for an individual organization.This template was developed by the HFTP Hospitality DPO/GDPR Task Force. A group of 23 hospitality industry experts tasked with developing hospitality-specific guidelines to assist with preparation for GDPR compliance. The MSARC 2018: Professional Development on the East Coast, USA

I had the privilege last week of attending the 12th annual HFTP Mid-South Atlantic Regional Conference (MSARC) in Greenville, South Carolina. This is an annual regional conference that is put on by the HFTP Central Carolina, Charlotte-Blue Ridge, South Carolina and Central Virginia chapters, switching locations every year between each region. This was my second MSARC to attend, and it proved to be just as special as last year’s event in Raleigh, North Carolina. Greenville was a great setting for the conference and the Westin Poinsett a wonderful host for our group

HFTP committees and councils provide guidance and leadership to the association assuring that HFTP remains at the top of its league. The councils and committees are organized into two engagement levels. Click here to review the engagement levels and councils below to help determine which would be the best fit for your involvement.Each task force, committee and council is aligned with an objective that supports the long term strategic plan for HFTP. To ensure that each group is appropriately resourced, HFTP volunteer submissions will be used to match volunteers with groups that best serve their interests, abilities and time availability.Engagement Level I:Requires members to attend a face to face meeting, participate in numerous conference calls throughout the year, and provides the potential for public speaking opportunities. This is our highest level of engagement and will require that your schedule and resources allow you to fully participate. HFTP Las Vegas Chapter Hosts Successful First Meeting of 2018

Nearly 40 hospitality professionals in the Las Vegas area gathered on February 1, 2018 at the Tommy Bahamas Restaurant for a social event and presentation about cyber investigations. The HFTP Las Vegas Chapter event was open to all active members and industry guests. Guest speaker Michael Hill, FBI computer scientist, is an experienced and accomplished professional in cybersecurity, cyber investigations and information technology. Hill's career spans nearly 30 years in federal law enforcement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and he is currently a computer scientist assigned to the Las Vegas division. Hill has experience in implementing cyber security policies and procedures, risk management assessments, threat assessments and system administration.
