As mentioned in a previous HFTP News post, HFTP is launching an inaugural Certification Advisory Program (CAP) designed to assist CHAE® and CHTP® applicants in achieving their HFTP certification designation. The new program will pair HFTP certification candidates with HFTP members who hold an ACTIVE designation (CHAE or CHTP). The advisors will help and support candidates via one-to-one interactions, as a supplemental review option for the certification exams.

What is Involved in Being a CAP Advisor?

  • Advisors must be an HFTP member
  • Advisors must maintain an active HFTP designation (CHAE or CHTP) status
  • One (1) year commitment, cannot serve consecutive years
  • One (1) candidate per six (6) month period (unless additional candidates are approved)
  • Monthly commitment with a minimum of two (2) hours (via conference call, email and/or face-to-face)
  • Approved advisors will earn CPE credits for their time
  • Advisors will be provided tools and resources to assist in their training before being matched with a candidate

How Can I Apply to Be An Advisor?

  • Applicants must submit a program application
  • During the approval process, applicants will be notified after review
